At New Optic Studio, drone flights are a data collection service, not a photography service. The output isn’t footage — it’s a structured dataset your team can use to manage the project.

Certification and Flight Experience

Our pilots hold FAA Part 107 certification, which is the baseline for commercial drone operations. NOS goes further: all pilots carry a minimum of 100 hours of flight time before operating on a project. Construction sites have overhead obstacles, confined zones, and active crews that require real judgment, not just a license. All aircraft comply with FAA remote ID requirements.

Interactive 3D Modeling

Rather than delivering flat photos or video, we process flight data into interactive 3D scene models. You can navigate these from any angle, zoom into specific areas, and compare captures from different dates to track changes over time. The level of detail is well beyond what aerial photos provide.

Cut/Fill Quantification

For earthwork and grading projects, we calculate cut and fill volumes directly from the drone data. That figure tells you how much material has moved, which feeds into cost tracking, resource planning, and schedule verification. Getting it from a drone flight is faster and more accurate than ground-based methods.

Downloadable, Actionable Data

All captured data is available for download as a point cloud. Engineers, architects, and construction managers can bring it into the software they already use. NOS also provides Scan to Plan and Scan to BIM services — floor plan drawings and coordinated BIM models built directly from the drone output.

FAQs

What makes NOS drone services different?
We combine high-resolution flight data with interactive 3D modeling and cut/fill quantification. The deliverable is a project management tool, not a progress report.

How can I use the data NOS provides?
Point cloud downloads work in most engineering and design platforms. We can also process the data into floor plan drawings or a BIM model through our Scan to Plan and Scan to BIM services.

Are NOS drone operations FAA-compliant?
Yes. All pilots are Part 107 certified and carry 100+ hours of flight time. All aircraft meet FAA remote ID requirements.
